Soccer was established as a Fairmont Community Education & Recreation (CER) program in 1985 to provide an inclusive recreational program primarily for kids ages 5-19 in the greater Fairmont area. The largest recreational program is held in the summer and typically involves over 300 kids ages 5-10. This program is structured to teach younger kids the basic skills with skill games and short scrimmages. For Kids 11 years and up, FSA sponsors a spring competitive league through the Minnesota Youth Soccer Association (MYSA). FSA began hosting a mid-July week-long Soccer Campdirected by Challenger Sports Camps for FSA since 2002. Typically 90 to 100 kids attend this camp. Since the Fall of 2006, Fairmont High School has fielded four teams – Varsity and Jr-Varsity teams for both boys and girls for grades 10 through 12. In the Fall of 2007, the 7th and 8th Grades were included as C-teams in the Fairmont Sr/Jr High School.
